Grondstoffen
Werken met de natuur betekent ook respect hebben voor wat de natuur te bieden heeft. Bij FELCO zijn grondstoffen kostbaar. Niet alleen om de robuustheid en kwaliteit van onze hulpmiddelen te garanderen, maar ook omdat ze eindig zijn. Daarom recycleert FELCO het staal- en aluminiumstof dat tijdens de productie ontstaat. Met dit systeem kunnen snijresten van grondstoffen worden gerecycled door ze te comprimeren en terug te sturen naar de leveranciers.
Elektriciteit
FELCO gebruikt alleen elektriciteit uit hernieuwbare bronnen. Hieronder valt ook de stroom die wordt opgewekt door de zonne-energiecentrale die op het dak van de fabriek is geïnstalleerd. Wat verwarming betreft, heeft FELCO een virtueuze cirkel opgezet, waarbij de warmte die door het machinekoelsysteem wordt gegenereerd, wordt teruggewonnen om het airconditioningsysteem en het stromend water in de gebouwen te voeden.
Water
Internationale standaard
FELCO is ISO 9001- en ISO 14001-gecertificeerd en doet er alles aan om aan de internationale normen voor kwaliteitsbeheer te voldoen en haar verantwoordelijkheden op milieugebied te beheren. FELCO wordt jaarlijks gecontroleerd door een onafhankelijke instantie en blijft in de voorhoede van de internationale vereisten en respecteert de filosofie van haar oprichter, die vanaf het begin, meer dan 75 jaar geleden, duurzaamheid en respect voor het milieu als basisprincipes voor de productie heeft ingesteld. FELCO heeft bijvoorbeeld het gebruik van ftalaten bij de productie van gereedschap al afgezworen.
CO2-emissies beheersen
De jaarlijkse uitstoot van FELCO vertegenwoordigt 3.000 ton CO2. Het bedrijf heeft zichzelf ten doel gesteld om jaarlijks 1.505 ton te besparen. Om dit te bereiken richt het bedrijf zich op het vergroten van het bewustzijn van het belang van het repareren van gereedschap. Door het promoten van reserveonderdelen zet FELCO zich in om haar CO2-uitstoot te verminderen en de positieve spiraal van repareerbaarheid van gereedschap te versterken.
Leveranciers
FELCO onderhoudt vertrouwensbanden en loyaliteit met haar leveranciers. Trots op deze langdurige samenwerking is dat 76% van de leveranciers van FELCO in Zwitserland gevestigd is, 17% in Europa en 7% buiten Europa, en dus actief deelneemt aan de inzet van het bedrijf voor een verantwoordelijk milieubeleid.
FELCO's streven naar economische duurzaamheid
FELCO gereedschap is ontworpen om de natuur te dienen en te respecteren. Met het eerste patent dat FELCO in mei 1945 indiende, probeerde Félix Flisch al de volgende principes na te leven:
- zorg voor de best mogelijke ERGONOMIE
- onderdelen met hoge precisie voor onderlinge uitwisselbaarheid van alle onderdelenhet gebruik van de materialen die
- het best in staat zijn om ongeëvenaarde DUURZAAMHEID te garanderen.
FELCO-gereedschap maakt schoon en precies snijden mogelijk, waardoor het hout snel geneest. Maar daar houdt het respect voor de natuur niet op. Het is de verantwoordelijkheid van FELCO om haar klanten een duurzamere consumptiekeuze te bieden. Dit betekent dat u moet kiezen voor herstelbare producten in plaats van wegwerpproducten. FELCO zet zich al vanaf het productieproces in voor ecologie. De robuustheid van onze gereedschappen en de beschikbaarheid van reserveonderdelen dragen bij aan hun lange levensduur, waardoor onnodige verspilling wordt voorkomen.

Production
FELCO tools are made from 70% recycled aluminum. Steel, meanwhile, is 95% recycled alloy. In this way, FELCO contributes to the virtuous circle of responsible production without compromising its promise of quality.
Interchangeability
Once the pruning shears are in their hands, FELCO customers know they have a robust, precise, and repairable tool. In fact, the high precision of the components means that all parts are interchangeable. FELCO values the repairability of its tools and ensures the availability of all components such as blade, counter-blade, anvil, shock absorbers and springs.
Tool life
The materials used to manufacture FELCO products guarantee their durability. Symbols of quality and performance, FELCO tools are often handed down from one generation to the next. FELCO shares its know-how to ensure the long life of its tools.
Warranty
FELCO offers a lifetime warranty on all die-cast aluminum components, and all components such as blade, counter-blade, anvil, shock absorbers and springs are replaceable.

Integration
With representatives from fourteen countries and remarkable know-how, FELCO teams are proud to be involved in products that are known the world over. This cultural richness is a vector of success for FELCO. In keeping with its social responsibilities, FELCO works with the Neuchâtel-based Alfaset company to run a sheltered workshop within the company, employing over 20 people. The common goal: to support people with disabilities to help them improve their material and social situation. More than a working partnership: an integration partnership of which FELCO is very proud.
Equal pay
In June 2022, FELCO was awarded the SGS "Fair ON Pay +" certificate, distinguishing the company as a fair employer and underlining its long-term commitment to equal pay. A salary analysis carried out by external experts has shown that FELCO complies with federal equal pay requirements. Valid for four years, with a review in the third year, this certification confirms FELCO's long-term commitment to equal pay for all employees.
Mobility
The quest for sustainability also involves mobility. FELCO favors short distances for its production and also encourages its employees to use public transport, or even to settle directly in Les Geneveys-sur-Coffrane, by also providing financial assistance. By encouraging the development of ways of getting around that are conducive to physical activity and respectful of the environment and resources, FELCO perpetuates the values that are at the root of its success.
Training company
FELCO relies on training and skills transfer to guarantee its unique industrial know-how. With this in mind, every year FELCO takes on young apprentices in dual training, thus perpetuating the long Swiss tradition of apprenticeship, a vocational training recognized and envied by most European countries.
